Schools' Transfer Test

INTAKE INFORMATION

Schools' Transfer Test Intake Information

The Transfer Test is the exam used by grammar schools in Northern Ireland to select pupils for entry into year 8 (first form).  A grammar school’s intake details can vary from year to year.

The highest score obtained by any pupil gaining entry to every grammar school and the lowest score for any pupil gaining entry to the same school are all provided in these detailed tables on the Belfast Telegraph website.

The tables also give information about the total number of applications for each school and the maximum number of pupils that each school can admit into year 8. Many schools are heavily over subscribed and so higher scores will be required to get a place in these schools - this is especially true in the greater Belfast area.
