Antrim Grammar School
Antrim Grammar School a brief overview.
As the population in the Antrim area grew there was a need for a new grammar school. Antrim Grammar School was founded in 1974 to address this need. In 2004, after several years of building and refurbishment, Antrim Grammar School had a new and very modern school facility. The school is a co-educational grammar school with around 750 pupils and is known locally as “AGS.” In 2018 the school had its best “A” Level results ever. Due to its central position, Antrim Grammar attracts pupils form a wide area including the greater Belfast area, Newtownabbey, Crumlin, Lisburn, the greater Antrim area and Ballymena. Due to the large population in Antrim demand for places in year 8 is high.

Antrim Grammar School uses the new SEAG Single Entrance Transfer Test results as part of its intake criteria into year 8.
