St. Louis Grammar School, Ballymena

St. Louis Grammar School, Ballymena - a briefoverview.

St. Louis Grammar School, Ballymena is situated in the town of Ballymena, County Antrim. It is a large Catholic grammar school with over 1000 pupils. It was founded in 1924 by the Sisters of St Louis with an initial enrolment of 35 pupils. The school was created for girls only and this continued until 1970 when boys were admitted for the first time. Accepting boys into the school meant many changes for the school both in its physical buildings and in its ethos. The school continues to grow and now has school facilities fit for the 21st Century. The school pupils obtain very good results at GCSE level and in 2018 was ranked joint first in the Belfast Telegraph GCSE league tables.

St Louis Grammar School uses the new SEAG Single Entrance Transfer Test results as part of its intake criteria into year 8.
