Wallace High School - a brief overview.

Wallace High School based in Lisburn, County Antrim is a co-educational grammar school. The school was founded in 1880 following a gift of money from Sir Richard Wallace a local landowner and MP. Originally known as Lisburn Intermediate and University School the school was renamed Wallace High School in 1942 in memory of its founder.

 

Wallace moved to its current site in 1976 and has grown to be a large school with almost 1200 pupils and a prep department. Demand for places in the school and the Lisburn area in general is usually very high.

Wallace High School uses the AQE Transfer Test results as part of its criteria for entry into year 8 (first form.)
