St. Mary's Christian Brothers' Grammar School, Belfast - GL test details
St Mary's Christian Brothers' Grammar School (also known as St Mary's CBGS) was established in 1866 by the Irish Christian Brothers. Originally sited in Divis Street in Belfast it now occupies a new and modern building on the Glen Road in Belfast. When the school started all teaching staff were Irish Christian Brothers but now all staff are lay teachers. From its early beginnings the school has grown and grown and now has almost 1200 boys attending the school. The grammar school provides a Catholic based education and has a long tradition of both academic and sporting success. There is space for approximately 181 pupils in year 8 and often there will be more than 100 additional applications above and beyond the approved enrolment figure of 181.
St Mary's Christian Brothers' Grammar School uses the GL Assessment Transfer Test (PPTC Test) as part of its selection processes.
