Assumption Grammar, Ballynahinch a brief overview.

Assumption Grammar School opened in 1933 and since that time the school has had a close connection with the Assumption Order – in fact it was a sister of that order who founded the school. The school is a Catholic Grammar school for girls and has a link with the Assumption School in Grahamstown, South Africa. Presently it has around 900 pupils and the school is situated in the town of Ballynahinch in County Down. A new school building was opened in 2012 giving the school first class facilities. The school is a specialist school for music with physical education and is in demand for places in year 8.

 

Assumption Grammar School uses the GL Transfer Test results as part of the criteria for entrance into year 8.
